LESSONS
The hunter/jumper lesson program at Colter Equestrian is suited for riders of all levels and abilities, from beginner through advanced. Carrie is particularly careful to listen to the rider's goals while also challenging them. We offer private, semi-private, and group lessons. Please email us for the current lesson schedule and openings.
IEA
The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) offers riders the unique opportunity to compete in shows without owning or leasing their own horse. At each show, riders draw a horse at random and compete on that mount. Colter Equestrian is proud to offer this opportunity through its middle school and high school teams.
SHOWS
Our riders are given the opportunity to show at local, regional and national shows from schooling to 'A' level. Show experience is viewed as an important chance to gain new experiences and skills but is not required of our clients. We encourage riders who are not showing to come out, support, and cheer for those who are competing.
BOARDING
Limited spots for full board may be available to those interested in lessons or training for their horse. Full board includes feed and water 3 times each day, stall cleaning 6x per week and turnout in acceptable weather. We also offer rehabilitation and special care on a case-by-case basis.
TRAINING
Colter Equestrian offers training packages for persons interested in correcting or improving their horse's behavior or skills. At Colter, we specialize in young horses as well as those that present a specific problem or need. We believe strongly that returning to fundamentals is often the most effective and efficient path to a desired state of performance.
LEASES/PURCHASE
Leases (half and full) are offered for those who want an additional level of involvement, but who may not be ready for horse ownership. We take special care to find and match riders with an appropriate horse and lease program. Carrie will also look for just the right horse for riders interested in purchasing their own horse.
